Reset Beacon
ABOUT

Plan around the next Codex reset

Reset Beacon forecasts the next time OpenAI resets everyone’s Codex limits, so you can decide when to use what you have left. The forecast, the sources, the alerts and the history live on one site, and every claim links to its evidence.

Why it exists

A reset from OpenAI can give you your allowance back before your own window would refill. Knowing one may be close helps you decide whether to use what’s left now, wait, or move work around.

The site follows public reset announcements, distinguishes possible resets from confirmed completions, keeps a source-linked record, and sends alerts when the status changes. It doesn’t guess your own five-hour or weekly reset time. That’s what /status and Settings → Usage are for.

Published events link to their original announcements, with timestamps and dated corrections.

Who runs it

Reset Beacon is published by Sound Media, a two-person studio that builds small useful tools. There’s no investor money, no affiliate links and nothing sponsored on the site. The running cost is a hosting bill.

We decide what counts as a reset and when a correction goes out. None of the sources we watch have a say in it.

Independence

Codex and OpenAI are trademarks of OpenAI. Reset Beacon is independent. OpenAI doesn’t endorse it, isn’t involved in it, and we have no access to OpenAI’s systems or to your account. Everything here comes from public sources.

House rules

We won’t nag you

No pop-ups asking you to turn on notifications, no interstitials, and no email except the four kinds of alert.

We say when we don’t know

When nothing is going on, the page says so.

We don’t hide mistakes

Every correction is dated and stays visible, including the ones that make the model look bad.

We can’t see your account

We never ask for a login or a token, only an email address you can remove in one click.
