What this site is
Reset Beacon is an independent record and forecast of Codex usage-limit resets from OpenAI, compiled from public sources by Sound Media. It is free to read, has no account, and is provided as-is.
Using the site means accepting these terms. If you don’t, the site is still free to leave.
No reliance
The forecast is published with its full scored record, including the days it got wrong. Do not make purchasing, staffing or deadline decisions on the strength of a percentage on this page. Your Usage page and /status are the only authoritative statements about your own account.
Classifications are our editorial judgement of public posts. We correct them when we get them wrong, and the corrections list is part of the record rather than an appendix to it.
Trademarks and independence
Codex and OpenAI are trademarks of OpenAI. Reset Beacon is independent, is not endorsed by or affiliated with OpenAI, and claims no rights in their marks. They are used only to describe the subject of the record.
Quoted sentences from public posts are reproduced for identification and comment, attributed to their author, and linked to the original.
Using our data
The classification record — dates, kinds, scopes and our notes — may be reused with attribution to Reset Beacon and a link back. Archived post text belongs to its author, not to us; treat it accordingly.
Bulk republication of the whole archive as a competing dataset without attribution is not permitted.
API and fair use
The JSON API and RSS feed are open and unauthenticated, rate-limited to a level that comfortably covers a dashboard or a bot. Scrape the HTML instead of the API and you will hit the rate limiter sooner.
We may block clients that degrade the site for other people, and will say so in the response rather than failing silently.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sound Media is not liable for losses arising from use of this site, including missed resets, wasted allowance, or downtime of the site itself. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
These terms may change. Material changes are dated at the top of this page, and the previous version is available on request through the contact form.
